Block 9 was mined on January 9, 2009, during the very first days of the Bitcoin network. Its mining reward was the first ever to be spent, making the bitcoins it produced the oldest still in circulation today. The block is widely attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto, although this has never been cryptographically proven.
Series 1 is a limited edition of 100 numbered cards. Each one is dedicated to a satoshi from the very first bitcoin of this block.
Generative Art
The artwork of each card is derived from the satoshi’s serial number using the SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm. The resulting hash is used to generate the guilloché pattern printed on the front of the card. Inspired by the intricate designs found on banknotes, this unique guilloché is a direct visual expression of your satoshi’s identity, making every card as unique as the satoshi it contains.
Collectible Object
On the front: the guilloché pattern and serial number. On the back: on-chain data and verification codes. Each card is individually numbered and designed as a true collectible object. It incorporates a cryptographic seal protected by a VOID security label and is permanently encapsulated using UV-cured polymer sealing. Every card comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
What You Are Buying
The collectible card itself is the product. It contains a specific satoshi that can be identified and verified on-chain, with its private key securely sealed inside the card.
By acquiring a Proof of Sats card, you are purchasing a unique physical collectible associated with ownership of a specific satoshi.
The card’s value lies in its history, rarity, design, and the satoshi it contains.
Proof of Sats Card Anatomy
Each Proof of Sats card brings together the essential identification, verification, security, and collectible elements associated with the satoshi it contains.
The front displays the satoshi’s main information, its number, rarity markers, a card authentication QR code, security microtext, and a guilloché pattern generated from the satoshi number using SHA-256. The card also indicates its Series, edition number, and serial number.
The back contains the satoshi’s complete data, an on-chain verification QR code, its description, and the private key protected beneath a tamper-evident VOID seal.
The entire piece is completed by a UV-reactive authentication seal and encapsulated in a rigid crystal case, permanently sealed.
